    Organization Meeting - Everyone!

Other than delivery school, this is the most important Sunday Meeting of the summer.  It can create a huge jump in production and belief, or if run poorly can create pressure, stagnation, and collapse.  Here's my take on it with some detailed points on how to make the whole meeting a theme instead of a gimmicky prize promotion including some new stuff we haven't done before.   - Virgie Sandford

    It’s Dad’s Week! - Why Dad’s week

    1. Today is Father’s day.  This is the gift you’re giving him –to work for HIM!! Or you can work for whomever a great father figure in your life is (grandpa, a coach)

    2. There is a question on your PC sheet about what 2 things you “need to/should do.” Dad’s been doing things he didn't “feel like doing” for their entire lives. He’s given you his best for 19 years…  Doing your best each day, treating people well honors him and the way he raised you to be.

      1. Getting your mind off yourself

      2. Honor him publicly at the Awards Banquet with a video & earn a bookdad tumbler (one of those insulated mug with a lid things)

      3. Can choose a different person to dedicate their week to, let them know that Mom’s week will be next month, we’re not forgetting about her!

    3. Technical Coaching You can do This Week!

      1. Pick ONE thing you want your org to improve this week: close and cash collection, being a professional (school district knowledge), sit downs, a solid introduction, an enthusiastic demo, etc.

      2. Then, teach buying atmosphere using this, "Mrs. Jones, I’ve dedicated the week to my dad.  I called my dad and told him that I was going to do my best this week and treat everyone the same way I'd want someone to treat our family.  So I promise you that I won't twist your arm or leave you in a bad mood if you decide this isn't for you.  If you don't sign up for this, you won't hurt my feelings, my dad taught me to be tough, so I'll just keep on going.  But in order to have my best week for my dad this week, I need to visit a lot of people so I can find the families who do want it.  The only favor I have to ask is that when you're done checking this out, you'll let me know one way or the other. Sound fair?"

    4. Emotional:

      1. Have everyone share one thing you're proud of from the week:  Something you didn't "feel like doing" but did anyway.

      2. Have everyone write down 2 things that they know they "should do" or "need to do", (what are the things on the winning habits checklist they just keep doing/not doing over and over).

      3. Tie these things into Dad doing things he didn't want to do for their entire lives.  Use Tape measure here to show how many years (each foot is a year) their dad has worked for them.  Then show them 1/4 inch (one week).  Is doing your best for one week and having the chance to stand up in front of 200 people and tell your dad how great he is and how much he means to you worth 1/4 inch?

      4. How to Win Dad’s Week: Explain the flyer or whatever your DSL is promoting

        1. Make sure to let them know that doing their best doesn’t mean putting pressure on themselves to sell, but just to do their best and leave everyone in a good mood like you would want your parents treated if someone came to your house.

      5. SL or you start with brief, good emotional story about the difference dad has made in their/your life, the sacrifices, why you admire him etc. or another male you really respect (if this wasn’t done during the Sun. mtg).

      6. Write letter OR record a video/voice memo to the person you’re dedicating this week to:

        1. Write Letters to dad -- not on their own -- in the room, immediately.  These letters are why they appreciate him for the things he's taught them and the things he's done that he didn't feel like doing.  (you can put on some music and pass out the papers and envelopes for everyone to write to dad or mentor.

        2. The qualities you admire/respect about him; thank him for the things he’s taught you and the things he’s done that he didn’t feel like doing.

        3. CFO will mail this to him for you (each person addresses the envelope to their own dad!)

        HOW TO Maximize the Letter:

BEFORE PC's: Once the letter is written and you break for lunch, have them call their dad and read it to him and tell them why they are dedicating the week to him, what it means, and that they are going to do their best and treat people well. This is an important step because many times parents will throw curveballs like, "If you really want to make me happy, you wouldn't work so hard." Doing this before PC's gives you a chance to cover those situations in advance.

IN PC's:  Dig into the things they aren't doing that they know they should be.  Talk specifically about the 2 things they wrote down earlier, and commit them to doing that.  If Possible, PC's should be done by the person taking their coaching calls this coming week. The whole theme is, "What would your dad do?"

      7. Call dad after letter is written (ideally this morning or at lunch before your PC)

        1. Read him what you wrote & Tell him you are dedicating this week to him and what that means. You’ll do your best and treat people well because that is how they were raised.  [This is far better than calling and telling them that they are going to go work their hardest or have their best week in sales for them because parents will often say “If you want to do something for me, don’t work so hard.”]

      8. Announce PC Schedule & Details - Use PC Reflection  Click here

    Closing your meeting

It's imperative that you soundly, firmly, and completely beat into people's heads that this isn't about putting pressure on themselves to SELL.  It’s ABOUT BEING THE ADULT THEIR DAD RAISED, not making excuses, being strong, doing what they said they'd do, and DOING THEIR BEST – all of which will naturally lead to more sales.  I can't overstate how important this part is, because it is almost certain that a high percentage of people will completely misunderstand the message, put a ton of pressure on themselves to sell and implode -- or they will have their best week and hit pacesetter (the minimum for winning this award is 100 units) by Thursday and then slack because they think it's about selling.

Make sure to collect all the letters to Dad/male mentor (have each student take a picture of it and address the envelope to their dad); have CFO (Banker) mail them tomorrow. Have them take a picture so they can read it throughout the week. Some points to maybe make:

Morning Reading--This is what they should be reading at their breakfast place.

On Coaching Calls--Making sure they are telling everyone they are working for dad/buying atmosphere/etc.

Have EVERYONE (including  SLs and you) make a notecard right now… of 6 rows with 6 boxes for the 36 goal periods aheadEach day, write a different characteristic you respect in him and what you’re committed to doing this week to be the person he’s raised you to be.  Tape it to your steering wheel (walkers carry in your binder) and check off each goal period all week as you’ve done the 2 controllables things (e.g. work consistently & healthy self-talk). Your dad gave you 6-8 months (depending on how old you are :)) for every 2 hour goal period you work for him.  Let’s do this!

    1. Optional:  (break into smaller groups if you have a bigger org) Lastly have everyone go around and share for whom they are working and one quick reason why they admire that person.  The OL/SL taking stats should write this down, and talk to them about that person all week on stat calls.

Cover these bullets fast: (All Links are on the Team Hub -> Top Rookie Tools -> Summer Selling!

    1. Talk to dad if you haven't gotten ahold of him yet!!

    2. Do BREAKFAST COACHING each morning at breakfast with roommates to keep sharp throughout the week - on the Team Hub

    3. Everyone would benefit from listening to the SW Dealers Podcast  hosted by Jack Wheeler.

    4. Clean out your car! Pay host family and clean up HQ, maybe do something nice for host dad; spend 1 hour alone,  GO to BED EARLY tonight.

    5. Wrap up with org vision/call to action–working for dad!
